Prof. Yin Ting Cheung’s work evaluates the impact of treatment on patients’ health status by using patient- or proxy- reported tools which are psychometrically reliable and rigorously validated. These outcomes include symptom burden, behavior problems, psychological distress and health-related quality of life. This work aims to promote the utilization of patient-reported outcomes to in future clinical trials and epidemiological studies.

Prof. Joyce You’s outcome research programs focus on the translation of innovative clinical research to cost-effective clinical practice. Using decision models to reflect relevant clinical scenarios, not only can the cost-effectiveness of a treatment or preventive strategy be examined, but the influential parameters for such intervention to become cost-effective can be determined. The clinical and economic benefits of a treatment would be maximized.
