Diagnosis

cheung yin tingProf. Yin Ting Cheung’s collaborative work aims to identify biomarkers and risk factors that can predict long-term complications in survivors of cancer. These predictors include underlying genetic determinants, as well as physiological biomarkers, biobehavioral factors and chemotherapy exposures during the active treatment phase. The goal of this work is to develop an evidence-based model that will facilitate a “personalized survivorship care plan” for each cancer survivor.

NGWaiLungBillyIn close collaboration with neurologists, Prof. Wai-Lung Ng and his team use synthetic chemistry, biochemistry, and computational tools to develop novel chemical probes for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease). The team also works closely with physician-scientists to develop new chemical tools for the early detection of infectious diseases.
