The School of Pharmacy was founded as a Department of Pharmacy in 1992 in the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The only government funded program of its kind in Hong Kong, it has graduated 12 classes of practicing pharmacists. They are prepared to accept the daunting challenge of leading change in their beloved profession. By way of their practice, the value of pharmacist service in disease management is better appreciated by both consumers and policy makers now more than any other time ever.
The Gala Dinner at the Conrad Hotel on December 5th is motivated by a perceived need to mobilize our alumni and other stakeholders towards re-inventing the profession of pharmacy in Hong Kong. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet current students, academic and support staff, loyal supporters of the School, and new friends who are passionate about a healthier Hong Kong. The gala dinner will mark the dawning of a new era in the history of the School of Pharmacy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In this new era, you will find a strong partnership between you and your alma mater and the broader global community. It is my sincere hope that you will join the Gala Dinner. Please feel free to bring your family and friends along. The program is a good balance between serious conversations and light-hearted but superb entertainment. I am confident that at the end of a fast-paced evening, everyone will take pride in the schoolˇ¦s accomplishments to date and everyone will find an institution with a solid foundation worthy of your support to reach the next milestone of becoming a center of excellence in ensuring safe and cost-effective medicine for all.
