EWIG, Lom-ying, Celeste 余南瑛
Dr. Celeste Ewig received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific Thomas J Long School of Pharmacy in Stockton, California and holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biochemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara. Since then, Dr. Ewig has dedicated her career to the practice of clinical pharmacy within the outpatient community setting. Working with one of the largest retail companies in the United States has allowed her to practice in up to 30 different pharmacies throughout Southern California and serve a wide range of patient populations.
Since joining the school in 2010, Dr. Celeste Ewig has focused on further developing outpatient clinical pharmacy services by pushing for a more patient-centered community practice. Finite resources has led to the examination of optimizing the use of outpatient primary care services through restructuring health care responsibilities -- a trend long recognized as not only improving patient care, but also driving down health care costs.
Dr. Ewig’s research interest includes identifying ways to improve medication knowledge gaps among patients, creating innovate avenues in utilizing technology to improve patient safety and optimizing the role of outpatient community pharmacists within the patient’s health care continuum.
