On June 7 2004, the first and historical visit had been made for the students from our school to the USC. The objectives of the program are 1) to establish collaboration between the 2 schools; 2) to exchange ideas and experiences in community and hospital pharmacy practice between US and Hong Kong; 3) to learn and compare the pharmacy systems; and 4) to broaden the horizon of participating students with international exposure
This exchange program is a 2-week program for students who have completed Year 2 undergraduate pharmacy training at CUHK. The activities of the program include lectures, case discussions, and clinical attachments in hospital, ambulatory and community pharmacies. Students who had participated in this program found that it was a valuable and memorable experience. |
USC International Pharmacy Clerkship in Hong Kong

Since year 2004, the School of Pharmacy hosted a 6-week clerkship program annually for the Pharmacy undergraduates from University of Southern California (USC). The main focus of the clerkship is on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Each year, around two to four exchange students come for their clerkship during the fall semester. The clerkship included lectures on TCM, and various visits to hospital Chinese medicine clinics, manufacturer of TCM products, herbal market, as well as community pharmacy and hospital pharmacy.
