M. Phil. Degree Programme
Programme of Study:

The M.Phil programme is a research-based degree programme, the ultimate requirement being the submission of a thesis. In addition, students are expected to complete a coursework component, as specified by the supervisor(s), with the approval of the Graduate Panel. The coursework component will provide essential research knowledge and skills pertaining to the candidates' research projects. Regular research seminars will be scheduled throughout the two-year curriculum. Minimum requirements are for each candidate to present two research seminars per year.

Fields of Specialization:
The thesis submitted has to contain report of an independent research investigation in one of the following areas of interest that has direct relevance to the science and practice of Pharmacy:

Pharmaceutical Sciences
(a) Pharmaceutics (Physical Pharmacy, Biopharmaceutics / Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Technology)
(b) Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry
(c) Pharmacognosy
(d) Pharmacogenetics / Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacy Practice
(a) Pharmacoeconomics
(b) Clinical Pharmacy

Admission Requirement:
The applicants should have:
graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class;
or
graduated from an honours progamme of a recognized university with a bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B" in undergraduate courses;
or
fulfil CUHK's English Language Proficiency Requirements before they are admitted, please refer to Graduate School (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/gss) for details.
Postgraduate students with a Master of Clinical Pharmacy from CUHK are encouraged to apply via the MPhil programme initially.
