Job Description

The Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking outstanding applicants for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Professor in the School of Pharmacy under the strategic recruitment fund scheme (http://www.per.cuhk.edu.hk/srf/) to build a world leading research program in translational precision medicine across the University.

Main Duties of the Position:

  1. Continuing with the applicant’s extramurally funded research programme in an area that the applicant is known for his/her research internationally
  2. Developing and leading a university-wide research programme in translational precision medicine
  3. Teaching in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and graduate programmes
  4. Providing service to the School, Faculty, University and the scientific discipline

Qualifications:

  1. PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
  2. Established investigator of international repute in one or more of the following research areas: biomaterials, chemical/biomedical engineering, molecular imprinting, transport barrier biology, informatics, clinical pharmacometrics, biopharmaceutics, health services and policy
  3. Record of research funding and productivity as evidenced by high impact peer reviewed publications
  4. Leadership in developing and sustaining new research areas
  5. Experience in team building and mentoring
  6. Evidence of collaborative interactions
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  8. Superb understanding of entrepreneurial activities

Job Description

Duties of the Position:

  1. Teaching in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and graduate programmes
  2. Developing and maintaining an extramurally funded research programme in an area that aligns with or builds on the strengths of the School of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine
  3. Providing service to the School, Faculty, University and the scientific discipline

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
  2. Postdoctoral or faculty experience in a relevant scientific discipline
  3. Record of research productivity as evidenced by peer reviewed publications

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Research area that aligns with and/or builds on existing and future programmatic areas in the School and the Faculty. Current research interests in the School include drug delivery, drug-herb interactions, drug resistance, and cost-effectiveness. The School is gearing up for an expanded focus in translational research in precision medicine, drawing on research in biomaterials, chemical/biomedical engineering, molecular imprinting, transport barrier biology, informatics, clinical pharmacometrics, biopharmaceutics, health services and policy
  2. Extramural support as PI
  3. Evidence of leadership and collaborative interactions
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Description

The Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong invites applications for a Lectureship in the School of Pharmacy (http://www.pharmacy.cuhk.edu.hk).

Applicants should have:

  1. At least a MSc degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline that underpins understanding the chemical and physiological basis of formulation composition and its impact on clinical performance;
  2. Advanced training and/or experience in pharmacy practice, eLearning and similar non-conventional student learning-empowerment platforms; preferably
  3. Evidence of leadership and collaborative interactions; and
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties include:

  1. Teaching pharmaceutics in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) program;
  2. Developing and supervising science-based clerkships;
  3. Developing eLearning and other innovative learning platforms; and
  4. Providing service to the School, Faculty, University and the scientific/professional discipline.
